  3. Fine. I've been wondering when I'd run into you.
  4. Have you been here long?
  5. I arrived yesterday, on Sunday.
  6. How about you?
  7. I got here a few days ago, on Saturday.
  8. No, wait a minute.
  9. What's today? Sorry, Friday, not Saturday.
  10. But we didn't have to be here till today.
  11. Yes, I know.
  12. But I wanted to get my things moved into my room
  13. And just take a look around.
  14. So, did you decide to do English in the end?
  15. No, I changed my mind and opted for history instead.
  16. And you're doing biology, if I remember correctly?
  17. Yes, although to start with, I couldn't decide between that and geography.
  18. How much reading have you got?
  19. I was given an amazingly long list of books to read.
  20. See? Wow, it does look pretty long.
  21. Well, I counted 57.
  22. I could hardly believe it.
  23. What's your list like?
  24. Well, it's not as long as yours, but it's still pretty big.
  25. There are 43.
  26. I don't know how I'm going to get through them all.
  27. Well, you don't have to read them all this week.
  28. You just have to stay ahead of the lectures and seminars.
  29. Have you got your class schedule yet?
  30. Yep, it came with a reading list.
  31. When's your first lecture?
  32. Tuesday. How about you?
  33. The day after.
  34. It's my busiest day.
  35. I've got two lectures in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  36. It's going to be different from school, isn't it?
  37. Yeah, particularly the lectures.
  38. Have you got any special strategy for listening to lectures?
  39. Well, I'm going to use a cassette recorder and record them all.
  40. What? Are you allowed to?
  41. Sure. Lots of people do it nowadays.
  42. It means you can listen to the lectures all over again later
  43. And make really good notes.
  44. I couldn't do that.
  45. I like to take notes as I'm listening.
  46. I usually find I get all the important points.
  47. Reading is different, of course.
  48. My approach is to skim the book first to see what's important
  49. And what isn't.
  50. It saves hours of time.
  51. But what if you miss something?
  52. You don't mean you're going to read every word, do you?
  53. Well, that's what I usually do.
  54. Well, that's up to you, but I think you're crazy.
  55. What's your first lecture on, anyway?
  56. Oh, it's a lecture on the French Revolution.

  58. How... Oh, it's not boring at all.
  59. It was an amazing period of history.
  60. It changed everything in Europe.
  61. So what's your first lecture about?
  62. It's about animal behaviour.
  63. It sounds really interesting.
  64. Look, I was on my way to the library.
  65. I'm going to get some of these books out
  66. And start reading for the first essay I've got to write.
  67. And what have you got to write about?
  68. Oh, you'll never believe it.
  69. I think our professor must have a sense of humour.
  70. He's given us the title...
