  2. Here you are at the end of the course, although it's not actually the end at all.
  3. It's more like the start.
  4. These days, we're in such a hurry that we even wanna slow down fast,
  5. but it doesn't work like that.
  6. Slowing down takes time.
  7. With that in mind, I want to leave you with three final thoughts.
  8. First, slow is good.
  9. It may seem redundant to say so at the end of a course like this,
  10. but it needs saying, out loud and over and over.
  11. Why? Because the taboo against slowness still runs deep in our culture.
  12. Second, slowing down can be hard.
  13. We all struggle to put on the brakes, me included.
  14. I've been praising slowness for nearly 20 years now,
  15. and yet sometimes even I go too fast or get distracted.
  16. The other day,
  17. I nearly got hit by a car when rushing to a meeting I wasn't even late for.
  18. Because the pressure and temptation to speed up are relentless.
  19. From time to time, you too will fall off the slow wagon.
  20. And that's okay.
  21. Never lose heart.
  22. Just dust yourself down and move forward.
  23. Trust me, you got this.
  24. Third and final thought.
  25. You are not alone.
  26. Don't try to slow down by yourself.
  27. No one is an island.
  28. We are all connected, and there is strength in numbers.
  29. Slowing down is so much more powerful when we do it together.
  30. So, team up with friends and family.
  31. Lean on fellow learners from the TED community.
  32. Slow down with your partner.
  33. Together, we can and will defeat the cult of speed.
  34. Together, we can become better people leading better lives in a better world.
