In the past, people sent letters to each other People put the letter inside an envelope You put a letter inside an envelope to send it to someone You write the address of the person you are sending the letter to on the front of the envelope You also put a stamp on it A stamp is a paper sticker that you put on an envelope to show that you have paid to send it.
  2. At the top of the letter you normally write your address so that the person can answer you.
  3. You also write the date on it so that they know when you wrote the letter.
  4. After you write the letter, you need to post it.

  6. Nowadays, people don't usually send letters.
  7. They use email and the internet to communicate with others.

There are not a lot of phone boxes nowadays because People have mobile phones and telephones at home If you go to London you will still see the red phone boxes because people like to take photos with them To make a call you need a phone number or a mobile number You can call or text people who have got a phone number.
  17. If you call someone and they don't answer, you can leave a voicemail which is a voice message that people can listen to when they check their phone.
  18. If you phone someone and another person picks up the phone, you can ask them to take a message.
