  1. Good evening everyone and thank you for coming to the soccer club meeting.
  2. It's good to see so many parents and children here tonight
  3. And I know you're looking forward to a great football season.
  4. Now, I'd like to take a few minutes to tell you
  5. About some changes to the soccer club for the coming season.
  6. Now this season...
  7. We'll be playing all our matches for both the junior and senior competitions at Kings Park,
  8. Instead of Royal Park,
  9. Which was used last season.
  10. Now, for meetings, we're going to use the clubhouse in Kings Park,
  11. And the next meeting will be held
  12. In the clubhouse on the 2nd of July.
  13. As usual, we hope to begin the season
  14. With a picnic next Saturday at the clubhouse.
  15. Please try and come to the picnic, as it's always good fun.
  16. At the last week of the season we usually have a dinner
  17. And presentation of prizes to the players and more information
  18. About this will be given to you later in the season.
  19. This season we have more teams than ever.
  20. We hope to have ten teams instead of five in the junior competition
  21. And they will play on Saturday mornings beginning at 8.30am.
  22. 8.30am.
  23. Training sessions will be held in Kings Park
  24. On Wednesday afternoons for the juniors
  25. And they will be wearing red shirts again this year.
  26. In the senior competition, there will be four teams, same
  27. As last year, and their games will be played
  28. On Saturday afternoons, starting at 2.30...
  29. 2.30...
  30. Oh, no, sorry, it will be at 2 o'clock start,
  31. And the training session for seniors is planned for Sunday afternoons.
  32. Now, I'd like to introduce you to the new committee for the soccer club for this season.
  33. Firstly, let me welcome Robert Young, the new president,
  34. Who will manage the meetings for the next two years.
  35. Robert's son has been playing football
  36. With the club for over five years now,
  37. And many thanks to Robert for taking on the job of president.
  38. Next, we have Gina Costello.
  39. She's the treasurer, and she'll collect the fees from you for the season.
  40. Please try and give Gina your fees
  41. As early as possible in the season,
  42. As the club needs the money to buy some new equipment.
  43. Then there's David West, who's volunteered to be the club secretary,
  44. And one of the many jobs he'll have is to send out newsletters to you regularly.
  45. If you have any information
  46. That may be useful, please let David know
  47. So that it can be included in these newsletters.
  48. Also...
  49. I'd like to introduce you to Jason Dokic,
  50. Who is the head coach.
  51. For all the new members here tonight, this is the third year
  52. That Jason has been with us
  53. As head coach, and we're very lucky to have such an experienced coach and former player at our club.
  54. He will continue to supervise the teams
  55. At training sessions and on match days.
